Health space at the station: care at the heart of medical deserts.
In late 2023, Doxamed won SNCF Gares & Connexions' tender to roll out permanent healthcare spaces in railway stations. This brings healthcare professionals closer to the public, particularly in areas where healthcare provision is limited.
Teleconsultation, nursing care, vaccination and screening tests, by appointment.
Each health space in railway stations is part of the local medical project, in partnership with the ARS (French Regional Health Agency), URPS, CPTS (French local health network) and MSP (French multidisciplinary health centre). A qualified nurse provides patient care for nursing support, health prevention and/or assisted teleconsultation with a local physician. Appointments can be booked directly via Doctolib.
A pilot programme already operating in Épinay-sur-Orge, before expansion to new stations across France by 2028.
Épinay-sur-Orge: Yann's life saved by a nurse
In Épinay-sur-Orge, a 69-year-old man suffering from undiagnosed pneumonia was assisted by nurse Corinne Moussard, stationed in the health space at the SNCF railway station. A teleconsultation with a remote physician, a nurse in direct contact with the patient: this is the very principle of the Doxamed programme that enabled emergency care to be provided.
